Sounds 'R Us is a small business which specialises in location audio recording and audio consulting. The lack of affordable quality recording facilities has always been a major obstacle to classical students, musicians and ensembles who were seeking placement, employment or self promotion. Sounds 'R Us began operation in 1996 in response to this need.
Since then we have been providing a quality on-site recording service for schools and musicians. Our service can produce one-off and production runs of CDs where the artist may choose to have creative input into each stage of editing, mastering and graphic design.

Our clients have included

Location Recording

As musicians usually perform better in familiar surroundings,  quality digital recordings can be made at a location of their choice. School or church halls, studios and even lounge rooms may be used. The master recording is digitally edited at our editing suite and mixed down to your choice of audio cassette, Digital Audio Tape or CD format (CD-R).

Location recording will generally cost less than studio recording due to the lower associated overheads.

Sounds 'R Us provides the following services

  • Location digital recording up to 16 track

  •

  • An extensive sound effects library is available to support these services.

  • Editing of multitrack recordings (ADAT or CD archive formats)

  • Audio CD mastering.

Our minimalist recording philosophy ensures that an accurate balance is achieved especially with orchestral and choral recordings minimising the risk of phase cancellation associated with too many microphones.

A complete CD production service is available and may consist of every aspect of production including recording, editing and mastering of the original recording  along with the graphic design of CD labels and inserts.  Replication of the approved CD master can then be arranged in any quantity.  Throughout the process the client is consulted at each step to maintain the individual's artistic integrity.   Media transfer facilities are available between DAT, ADAT, CD, vinyl, reel-to-reel and compact cassette with older recordings being improved by the use of modern noise reduction techniques.
